The Bar Council of India (BCI) has released a notification on Tuesday aimed at upholding ethical standards within the legal profession. According to the new guidelines, law students will not be awarded their degrees unless they complete specific mandatory tasks.

New Guidelines for Law Students: Essential Requirements Before Receiving Degrees
Law students are now required to disclose any cases registered against them to their educational institution prior to obtaining their final mark sheet and degree. This includes information about registered FIRs, criminal cases, convictions, or acquittals. Failing to provide this information may lead to disciplinary action, including the withholding of their degree.
The educational institution will be responsible for forwarding this information to the Bar Council of India (BCI) and must await its decision before issuing the final mark sheet and degree. This measure is part of the BCI’s initiative to uphold ethical standards in the legal profession.
लॉ छात्रों को अब अपनी अंतिम मार्कशीट और डिग्री प्राप्त करने से पहले अपने शैक्षणिक संस्थान को किसी भी मामले की जानकारी देनी होगी, जो उनके खिलाफ दर्ज है। इसमें दर्ज FIRs, आपराधिक मामले, सजा या बरी होने की जानकारी शामिल है। यदि यह जानकारी नहीं दी गई, तो अनुशासनात्मक कार्रवाई की जा सकती है, जिसमें डिग्री रोके जाने का प्रावधान भी है।
शैक्षणिक संस्थान इस जानकारी को बार काउंसिल ऑफ इंडिया (BCI) को अग्रेषित करेगा और अंतिम मार्कशीट और डिग्री जारी करने से पहले उसके निर्णय की प्रतीक्षा करेगा। यह कदम BCI की ओर से कानूनी पेशे में नैतिक मानकों को बनाए रखने के लिए उठाया गया है।

Biometric Attendance बायोमैट्रिक उपस्थिति: A biometric attendance system will be implemented in law colleges to enhance monitoring and accountability.लॉ कॉलेजों में बायोमैट्रिक उपस्थिति प्रणाली लागू की जाएगी, ताकि निगरानी और जवाबदेही बढ़ सके।
CCTV Surveillance: CCTV cameras will be installed in key areas of law colleges, with recordings retained for one year to ensure discipline.लॉ कॉलेजों के प्रमुख स्थानों पर CCTV कैमरे लगाए जाएंगे, जिनकी रिकॉर्डिंग एक वर्ष तक रखी जाएगी, ताकि अनुशासन सुनिश्चित किया जा सके।
Academic Integrity:शैक्षणिक ईमानदारी: Students must declare that they are not enrolled in any other regular academic degree program during their LLB studies.छात्रों को यह घोषणा करनी होगी कि वे LLB अध्ययन के दौरान किसी अन्य नियमित शैक्षणिक डिग्री में नामांकित नहीं हैं।
Employment Restrictions रोज़गार प्रतिबंध:Engaging in any job, service, or business during the LLB course is prohibited without valid permission.
